Water Treatment and Gallon Water Filling: How They Work Together

March 28, 2026

के बारे में नवीनतम कंपनी की खबर Water Treatment and Gallon Water Filling: How They Work Together

A complete 5-gallon water bottling plant runs on two tightly coupled systems. Treat them as separate units and you'll face chronic shutdowns. Align them correctly and your line runs at rated speed — consistently.

1. The Two-System View of a Gallon Water Plant

Every gallon water bottling plant contains two subsystems that must work as one:

System Role Key Equipment
Upstream: Water Treatment Produce purified water to specification Sediment filter → Carbon filter → RO → UV → Ozone → Buffer tank
Downstream: Gallon Filling Machine Rinse bottles, fill, cap at rated BPH Bottle loader → 4-stage rinse → Fill station → Capper

The filling machine cannot compensate for poor water quality. The treatment system cannot compensate for a poorly set-up filling line. Both must be sized, sequenced, and connected correctly.

2. What Each Treatment Stage Does — and Why It Matters

Stage-by-Stage Breakdown

① Sediment Pre-Filter (≥5 µm removal)

  • Removes sand, rust, suspended solids
  • Protects RO membranes from physical damage
  • ⚠️ If skipped: RO membrane lifespan drops significantly; line water pressure becomes unstable

② Activated Carbon Filter

  • Adsorbs chlorine, chloramine, odor, organic compounds
  • Prevents oxidation damage to RO membranes
  • Required for FDA 21 CFR Part 129 compliance
  • ⚠️ If skipped: membrane degradation accelerates; chemical taste in final product

③ Reverse Osmosis (RO)

  • Removes 95–99% of dissolved solids (TDS target: < 10 ppm)
  • Eliminates heavy metals, bacteria, viruses
  • Core of the treatment system; all other stages serve and protect it
  • ⚠️ If undersized: water supply to filling machine runs out; PLC pauses production

④ UV Sterilizer (254 nm wavelength)

  • Kills residual bacteria and viruses after RO
  • No chemical residue — safe for direct product contact
  • Placed immediately downstream of RO, upstream of storage tank
  • ⚠️ If bypassed: microbial contamination risk at the fill point

⑤ Ozone Generator (0.1–0.4 mg/L)

  • Final disinfection layer; extends product shelf life
  • Residual ozone dissipates naturally 20–30 minutes after capping
  • Must be injected before the storage tank — not after
  • ⚠️ If placed downstream of tank: ozone degrades seals and gaskets in the filling machine
